SnapClean is a browser extension that lets you capture screenshots of web pages, annotate them, and export them as image or PDF files.
SnapClean does not collect, store on any server, sell, or transmit any of your data. Everything happens locally on your device.
When — and only when — you explicitly start a capture, SnapClean accesses the content of the current tab in order to take the screenshot you asked for. During a full-page capture it temporarily scrolls the page and hides floating elements so the stitched image is clean; the page is restored afterwards.
Screenshots you take are held in the extension's memory and, if you use the History feature, stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) on your own device, limited to the most recent 50 captures. You can delete them at any time from the History panel. Uninstalling the extension removes them.
The permissions SnapClean requests (such as access to the active tab and the ability to run on the sites you visit) exist solely so the screenshot features can work on whichever page you choose to capture. They are only exercised in response to your explicit capture action.
